In individual therapy, we will work toward a better self-understanding, lower levels of guilt and insecurity, and an increased ability to be aware of and express feelings at the moment they occur. As a result, the client can experience improved self-esteem, trust in self, an ability to learn from mistakes and enjoy more comfortable relationships with others.
The purpose of couples therapy is to restore a better level of functioning in couples who experience relationship distress. The reasons for distress can include poor communication skills, incompatibility or a broad spectrum of other conflicts and issues. The focus of couples therapy is to work toward alleviating the presenting symptoms and restore the relationship to a better and healthier level of functioning. Couples therapy can assist persons who are having complaints of intimacy, sexual and communication difficulties.
In group, not only do clients receive tremendous understanding, support, and encouragement from others facing similar issues, but they also gain different perspectives, ideas, and viewpoints on those issues. Group therapy, like individual therapy, is a powerful vehicle for growth and change, and is intended to help people who would like to gain support, increase self-awareness, and learn new ways to cope with personal or interpersonal challenges.
